I believe that James Baldwin was right when he said the book had a racist view towards African-Americans. Don't get me wrong I have really enjoyed reading the Native Son. But some of the things that Richard Wright was a little offensive. I think it was a little because it was saying how all blacks were considered like we were the devil. Even though it was true back then he didn't have to remind us. It was mainly racist towards African-American males.
I say that because it made it seem like all African-American males are criminals. It's not really helping us when all of these grown African-American males are doing all of the crimes. In the Native Son there was a group of males that were going to rob a store that was owned by a white man. They have been robbing other people but they were black. they never got caught when they were robbing them. That made it seem like the African-Americans were to dumb to relize thst they were getting robbed.
Aslo that if a black man was found in a white woman's bedroom that he raped her. Why couldn't he just been in there to have consensual sex. I believe that he didn't have kill her but he should just waited to the her mother just to leave out. If a white woman was to ever get caught in bed with a black man back then she would lie about it .She would've said that she was raped by the man. Even though they was having consensual sex.
African-American males could've been worst then terrorist at the time. That's how bad it was back then. In the Native Son Bigger had killed two womem. he had no reason to kill them women. So I think that was saying that black males kill people for no reason. Also the name of the main character's name Bigger some say that it was racist. They said that it stood for "Big Nigger". So Richard Wright that just put it as Bigger.
Many peolpe would disagree with me and say that Richard Wright was right. They would say that he had just wrote the book just to write about a African-American male. Also just to inform us what was going on back in the day. To show reader the life about a black males who is trying to help his family & hanging with his friends. Until he has killed a white woman then trys to go on the run.
Now you tell me who you believe is right James Bladwin Or Richard Wright ? I belive that James Bladwin is right. The Native Son made it made it seem like all African-American males are criminals. African-American males could've been worst then terrorist at the time.

My first source was form a newspaper article the name was " The city of Newark and it's let"s move! Newark Campaign to Fight Obesity Team Weight Watchers to Foster Healthy Lifestyles." In this it was telling that Newark was having a campaign for fighting against obesity. Also Weight Watchers would offer countless free memberships to the employees of Newark.
My next source came form a magazine the name of the article was " Slimming down helps raise New Jerse to the 8th healthiest state." This article was about how some people started to make better health choices. For those healthy choices it helped boost New Jersey to the 8th healthiest state in America.
My Last source was form a journal "NJ 8th lowest in obesity rate but getting heavier.'' It was saying how New Jersey is in a good place in the obesity rate. But there is a big chance that we will be higher by the year of 2015. If we keep making the health choices that we are we can be in the highest rate of obesity.
